Location: Gachsaran, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, Iran
Gachsaran is known as Iran’s oil roof because of its lofty oil towers. It is home to the second largest oil field in Iran. Located on the east of Behbahan in Khuzestan Province, Gachsaran has a population of 324,000 people and has 45,000 electricity subscribers. In a bid to meet the increasing demand for electricity in Gachsaran, in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province in the southwest, a CHP power plant, will be connected to the national grid by the end of the current fiscal (March 2019).
